Past Times Plates
As you can perhaps tell from my surname - I am of Dutch descent although I now live in South Africa. I have always been interested in crafts and been a creative person but when I discovered miniatures I realised I had found my passion since miniatures incorporated so many of the crafts I had done up until then.
I live at the base of the Helderberg Mountain and have a magnificent view of mountain sand sea from my studio.
I belong to the Cape Town Miniatures Guild which is an extremely talented group of miniaturists who are very self reliant because we have no miniature shops in South Africa. Our group is well respected for the quality of the miniatures that we produce.

My home in Somerset West at the base of the Helderberg mountains overlooking False bay near Cape Town. in South Africa.
The area where I live is rich in flora and fauna. We are surrounded by mountains and sea, so it is easy to escape into nature and walk,hang glide, fish, surf, camp or 4x4.
